The 1st private number plates auction in 2009

There will be an public auction of 1600 attractive private number plates held at Whittlebury Hall, Towcester, Northamptonshire on Wednseday the 28th, Thursday the 29th and Friday the 30th January.Premier auctions will conduct the sale on behalf of the Sale of Marks group, DVLA, Swansea.
Amongst the numbers to be sold are 1 O with a reserve of £10,000 and 3 S with a reserve of £8000. It is rare to have a one number one letter combination included and to have two such numbers in the same auction is unusual. Both 1 O and 3 S are expected to exceed their reserves many times over. The last two digit combination auctioned was 6 B which was included in the sale held in September 2008 and where it brought £102,200 on the hammer which equates to approximately £125,00 when commissions, taxes and transfer fee.
Other notable entries include 1 OON with a reserve of £3000 will look at LOON on the plate, MOB1E with a reserve of £900 may be of interest to the DJ and musician Moby, LA02 URA at £700 makes a nice number plate for Laura and FO57ERS at £1500 could be Fosters. SMT 1H , with a reserve of 700 at first glance looks like SMITH mis-spelt while BLO6G at only £500 is a topical registration choice for the bloggers.
