Second sealed bid sale of dvla number plates
The second sealed bid sale of DVLA number plates completed on the 27th February. It comprised 1074 selected registration numbers many of which were customer requests for inclusion in future sales.
Top performing number was M42 HER which attracted a winning bid of £6210. It is not immediately apparent why this number would attract a bid of this amount. Second top number plates was NET 1Y which made £5000 and third was SBA 1G which brought £4590.
282 DW was the top conventional cherished number which brought a respectable £3510, second was 108 PS at £3150 and third was 311 JC at £3000.
Total bids were £536,440 which was well down on the first of these sales held in late 2008 although it was noted that there were far more obscure registration numbers in this sale and less conventional popular initial type number plates.
Interestingly there were less unsold numbers this sale with 297 remaining unsold while there were 460 unsold in the first sale.
