The second auction of attractive private number plates of 2009 has been scheduled for the 25th, 26th and 27th of March 2009 and will be held at Ardencote Manor Hotel and Country Club, Lye Green Road, Claverdon, Warwick. There will be 1600 lots on offer over the three days and they will offered in alphabetical order. Day 1 is for registrations between the letters A to G , Day 2 is H to O and day 3 is P to Y.
The finest number plate to be auction is undoubtedly 1 D with a reserve of £20,000, it is expected to reach a winning bid of much more than this figure ,for example at the last auction 1 O brought £170,000, 1 D should exceed this amount easily. S1 and F1 both made over £400,000 in 2008.
Some of the more attainable number on offer which could be bought for a more reasonable amount are B4 LLS with a reserve of £1200, F2 ANK with a reserve of £450, LUC 1Y with a reserve of £700 and VAN 111A at just £400. All of these numbers could bring many times their reserve price.
The registration 2 O will also be on offer although it is not expected to be as successful as January’s sale of 1 O it will be interesting to see how much it makes.
Potential buyers can bid by phone, post, online or in person but they must register in advance by obtaining a catalogue and completing the registration form.
